After a long wait, the RPF has finally initiated the recruitment of Constable and Sub Inspector. The Indian Railway board will hold the Computer Based Test before the physical Test. Previously, the exam was held in OMR Manner.
As most of the organizations have moved to the Online exam system, Railways too adapted the way to hold the exam Online to keep transparency.
The RPF Exam Date for any of the post is not announced yet. Though, the board has clearly mentioned in the notification that it is willing to conduct the exam before November.
Deciding the exam date may take time as the board has received applications in a big number. Hence, scrutiny of the applications requires more time.
The Board will soon release the Application Status for the Sub Inspectors and Constable Applications.

- Number of Posts: 8619 Constables, 1120 Sub Inspectors
Online applications to fill up vacancies of 8619 Constables and 1120 SIs in RPF/RPSF were invited in June, 2018 vide Employment Notification Constable/RPF- 01/2018 and SI/RPF-02/2018 respectively. To begin the recruitment process Computer Based Test schedule has been finalized the online test will begin from 19th December onwards. CBT will be conducted group-wise simultaneously for Constable and SI for all 6 groups one by one in the following order;
- 1. Group E: NF Railway
- 2. Group F: RPSF
- 3. Group A: S Railway, SW Railway and SC Railway
- 4. Group B: C Railway, W Railway, WC Railway and SEC Railway
- 5. Group C: E Railway, EC Railway, SE Railway and ECo Railway
- 6. Group D: N Railway, NE Railway, NW Railway and NC Railway
The Central Recruitment Committee for SI and the Central recruitment Committee for Constable have allotted Roll numbers to all valid candidates and these roll numbers will be communicated to them by 16th November through e-mail. Thereafter detailed CBT schedule will be released on official website of Indian Railways.
The CBT exam date, test center, timing with detail instructions will be sent to individual candidates on their e-mail. As the CBT begins for Group E candidates from 19th December, therefore candidates will be able to download their e-call letter from 9th December onwards as per test schedule.
The Test centers to candidates will be allocated within 200 km of their home district for their convenience and single stage e-call letter will be issued to candidates 10 days before exam with all details and better facilitation.

The candidates will be able to download the RPF Admit Card for respective Recruitment. The Board will upload the RPF Admit Card on the official website.
The Admit Card of the RPF exam will be uploaded 10 days prior to the examination.
RRB Exam Admit Card Releasing Process
Let us discuss the RPF Admit Card releasing process now. As the Application process has been completed, the board will scrutinize the Online applications of the candidates.
In this process, the Board will see if the photographs, signature, and academic documents are uploaded correctly and according to the official guidelines. If the uploaded documents and the information provided by the candidates are not matching, the board will mark such applications invalid.
The board gives always a chance to remove the discrepancy in the online applications. For this, the board will release the application status. The candidates will be able to see their RPF Application Status on the Official website of Indian Railways.
Thereafter, the board will publish the notice for the Photograph and signature re-upload. The candidates can here upload new photo and signature according to the guidelines.
RPF Constable and SI Exam Notice
Once all the above processes get completed, the board will announce the RPF Exam Date and Exam Centres. The candidates will then be able to get their RPF Admit Card downloaded.
The board will release the RPF Admit Card 5 days prior to the examination.
Paper Pattern for RPF SI and Constable
The RPF Constable exam will be on Class 10 basis while Sub Inspector on Graduate. Few important points are pointed below
- CBT shall be held at different centers across the country simultaneously for all the Groups.
- Candidates shall have following language options for Computer Based Test (CBT) out of which they shall have to opt for anyone.
- (1) Hindi (2) English (3) Urdu (4) Tamil (5) Telugu (6) Konkani (7) Malayalam (8) Kannada (9) Marathi (10) Gujarati (11) Bengali (12) Odia (13) Assamese (14) Manipuri and (15) Punjabi.
- Candidates will be required to answer all questions and shall be awarded 01(one) mark for each correct answer. Negative marks shall be awarded for every wrong answer. 1/3 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer. No mark shall be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted.

General Instruction regarding download of RPF Admit Card
We should discuss a few important things about the RPF Admit Card/ RPF Hall Ticket which is necessary.
The Railway board is not going to send the admit card by post to the address of the candidates. They have to visit the website and download the Admit card online.
After Downloading the Hall ticket of RPF Exam the candidates should ascertain that they have printed the same perfectly and is error proof. If you find any discrepancy in the Admit Card, one should contact the authority at earliest.
Your RPF Exam Admit Card will carry the following information:
